Now that I had one wedding under my belt, did I feel like a pro? No, absolutely not. I was still just as nervous but I kept smiling on the outside.
The wedding of Jay and Takara was held at the Riverbend Country Club in Sugarland, Texas on Saturday February 18, 2017 @ 5pm. I attended the rehearsal the evening before and was able to meet the bride and groom for the first time at that. Just so you know, I typically meet with about 10% of my couples before the wedding. Most of our communication is via text message and phone calls. I always make myself available for a couple if they want meet and "see" me before the day of the wedding. That's never a problem.
The Riverbend Country Club is a small intimate space. A staff person was present but the couple hired a DOC (Day of Coordinator) which I highly recommend. I was a bit disappointed that the chairs had stains and tears in them with no chair covers. No one else seemed to be bothered by it. After all, you couldn't see them once you sat down.
This was an outdoor wedding overlooking the golf course. The weather was warm but it was nice for a wedding. The guests seemed to be surprised when they found out the wedding was going to be outside. We started on time thanks to the DOC. Everything went as planned and this ceremony was completed in less than 15 minutes. Jay and Takara didn't have any extra elements for their ceremony. It was very standard. This was somewhat of an "incognito" wedding so I can't go into detail. Just know it was beautiful.
Five Star Review
Kim met all of our needs. She responded quickly, calmed a nervous bride, and did all that we asked of her. She is warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and gorgeous! We are so thankful that she was able to officiate our happily ever after.
