You asked and I listened: Why I started offering pre-marital counseling

Hello! Hello!

I’m so excited to share this with you. I will get right to the point. I’m now offering pre-marital counseling! This has been an incredible journey for me. I’ve been a Professional Wedding Officiant now for two years and over that period of time couples and wedding vendors (planners) have periodically asked me if I offer pre-marital counseling. I never did. I really never even put much thought into it to be honest. I was satisfied being a wedding officiant.

So why did I start offering pre-marital counseling? Well, the answer is simply. Because I was often being asked and I wanted to provide this special and unique service. It’s a way for me to get to know my couples on a much more deeper and personal level as well has to help them navigate through many issues they may not have even thought about.

The engagement period is a very exciting time. Many women wait a lifetime (literally) or at least several months or years to hear the words, “Will you marry me?” They are overwhelmed with excitement, nervousness, stress, uncertainty and many other emotions all at the same time. The wedding planning starts and it can be an all consuming time. With planning a wedding many stressors pop up that have never popped up before.

Based on the pre-marital assessment ($35/couple) some of my couples have completed some of their top stressors during the engagement period is MONEY, lack of money, wedding expenses, money management, family relationships, lack of sleep, and more. We address these topics during your session. Some other topics we will discuss are communication, sexual expectations, relationship dynamics, family & friends, stress, spiritual beliefs, conflict resolution, relationship roles, and so much more!
