How I Survived Three Weddings In One Day!

Hello! Wow…what a month September 2018 has been. Typically I marry 3 - 4 couples every month. This month I married six couples with three of them being on Saturday September 22, 2018. For some reason this seemed to be a very popular wedding day. Several of my wedding officiant colleagues across the states also had multiple weddings on September 22, 2018. Here is in Houston, Texas the weather was mild but it rained all day. Thankfully all of the weddings were inside.

My first wedding of the day (picture above) was scheduled for 1pm about 40 minutes away from my home. The couple contacted me four days before the wedding date. This is not unusual at all. They initially wanted to elope at the courthouse but decided to hire me instead for a small intimate ceremony in their home. I love these weddings. Congratulations Dayana and Armando! 9.22.18

The second wedding was a little over an hours drive from the first. No problem. The start time was 4pm. Due to the weather were a little bit behind schedule but that was okay. This ceremony was extremely special. The couple requested a more Afro-Centric ceremony in verbiage. They shared with me their love story of how they met and it brought tears to my eyes as I shared it with the guests. They married in their best friends home in front of an intimate group of family and friends. The best friends also introduced them to each other two years ago. I can’t say enough about this couple. Congratulations Charlotte and Rusom! 9.22.18

The third and final couple I married was scheduled for 7pm. This ceremony was actually a surprise wedding. I had been communicating with the bride for several months to iron all of the details. I love surprise weddings! The ceremony was at a country club in a private room. There were about 60-80 guests. All of the guests wore black with a touch of red. There was no wedding party just me, the bride and the groom. To see the look on the guests faces is always priceless at surprise weddings. If you are engaged to be married and considering a surprise wedding, do it! congratulations Nikisha and Antonyo! 9.22.18

Normally I only do one wedding a day. But for some reason on 9.22.18 the stars and and moon were aligned perfectly to allow me to serve three amazing couples who needed me. It was ease and flow the entire day. I didn’t break a sweat.
